Day 57: Drumroll Please

50 Euro napkin

I had a meeting for teaching this morning and then went home. Laura called me to tell me she made an appointment for me to see a hand specialist. I picked up my xrays and then went to my appointment. The doctor looked over the xrays and then looked at my hand. He found a small fracture on the scaphoid, which is a bone in the hand that helps regulate circulation, which explains why my hand is always cold, numb, and has turned black several times. Despite my sprain being pretty minor, the bone that was injured is extremely important and if not treated right can be highly problematic. I had to get an MRI to better analyze the sprain and will get my final diagnosis tomorrow. I have to get fitted for a brace and get pain medications in the morning.
